As a member of the Victim support Bureau you will work alongside officers and volunteers to ensure you provide first point of contact of victims, always ensuring you give support and guidance and dealing in a sensitive way within strict time lines.

You will assist the team with updates and dealing with Victims through their chosen communication method, the nature of the role means that some telephone calls will be of a sensitive and contentious nature and will require appropriate handling.

You will work between 8-17.00hrs Mon to Thurs and 08.20 - 16.30 on Friday, a flexi time system is in operation and additional hours worked can be claimed in lieu. You will have good IT skills, experience of working to deadlines and in a busy environment with the ability to stay calm and work efficiently and with accuracy. You must have excellent communication skills and be flexible in your approach. Ideally you are organised, can work without close supervision and be able to prioritise your work to ensure deadlines are met. The role works to a strict Code of Practice and at all times you must respect confidentiality.

If you have knowledge of the Criminal justice system this would be desirable although not essential.
