Description:

Role Summary/Purpose

In competitive and segmented markets, there are many demographics and psychographics of customers that exist. As a result, uniform and static pricing can be both uncompetitive and unprofitable, thus there will exist opportunities for price discrimination to boost margins. The Pricing Analyst, reporting to the UF/MBR Business Intelligence Leader, is a key resource to provide regional analysis to ensure the pricing of product stays competitive in the market. Interacts with Global Competitive Intelligence to gather competitive intelligence to make recommendations regarding pricing policies. The Pricing Analyst uses information resources regarding customer needs, historical data, market conditions, and internal margin/revenue targets to prepare pricing quotes, monitoring all facets of the market and understanding the implication of pricing on both the customers and competition.

Essential Responsibilities

·  Market Price Analysis

·  Provide strategic Market Price Analysis (MPA) for UF/MBR projects to support business initiatives, working with regional teams to collect and mine data

·  Evaluate the marketplace and competitive data to optimally align pricing strategies within the marketplace and specific zones

·  Maintains historical pricing data on the organization and its competitors: monitor and update commercial price lists, maintaining "evergreen" Global UF/MBR database, including new regional competitor bid data.

·  Develop and maintain pricing curves for UF/MBR product lines.

·  Provide understanding of competitor strengths/weaknesses for RFP specified bid evaluation criteria

·  Present pricing analysis at a monthly strategy meeting, with insights, trends, and suggestions

·  Win/Loss Analysis

·  Determine/Quantify customer evaluation metrics and validate through win/loss analysis

·  Lessons learned analysis and breakdown of results for key regional UF/MBR deals

·  Validation of pre-bid assumptions

·  Regional Win/loss reviews according to UF/MBR product lines

·  Strategy & Positioning

·  Participate in and prepare for strategy meetings

·  Assist Regional Product Managers to determine/enhance competitiveness of UF/MBR product lines through benchmarking global competition => Capital/Operating Cost and NPV analysis

·  Monitor input costing changes and develop sensitivity analysis thresholds to provide reporting on potential changes to finished product prices

·  Tool Development

·  Improve and maintain pricing tools and profitability models

·  Improve functionality of Global UF/MBR competitor database

Basic Qualifications

·  Background in commercial activities (Sales, inside sales, Commercial Engineering) and understanding of key players in the market

·  Ability to understand commercial and technical details, sufficient to make comparative analysis

·  Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to effectively articulate insights and recommend actions

·  Attention to detail and practical experience analyzing data, program metrics, and performance

·  Strong organization and project-management skills, including the ability to meet demanding, evolving, and often competing deadlines

·  Ability willingness and presence to present at internal sales meeting, on conference calls.

·  Demonstrates complex problem resolution proficiency and the ability to identify/implement process and system enhancements

·  Work cross-functionally throughout the regional organization to drive analysis-driven change

·  Ability to communicate, network at all organization levels to ensure a constant flow of information

·  Excellent foundational communication skills - analytical, written & verbal communication, facilitation, presentation, collaboration, …

·  Flexible, resilient and results driven

·  Positive and proactive attitude; team-work oriented

·  Proficiency with analytical and presentation tools (Excel pivot tables, graphing, PowerPoint) and excellent knowledge of Office programs

Preferred Qualifications

·  Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, research, statistics, math, economics, accounting or related analytical discipline preferred

·  Financial management experience with planning, forecasting, and business analysis

·  Minimum 2 years of related experience

·  Fluent in English; knowledge of French is a plus
