Adecco have an exciting role just in today for a Tooling Production Engineer to join our local client in South Ayrshire on a permanent basis.

Your role will be to support colleagues who are operating the CNC punches and to maximise output. Also to control and maintain tooling within the CNC punching area, keeping the tooling in an optimum condition. To improve productivity to maximise multi machine operation by means of effective scheduling of jobs.

Some of your duties and responsibilities will include:

* Pre-set all tooling that is required to run programs in the CNC punching area
* Sharpen all tooling to keep punches and dies in an optimum condition whilst maintaining good tool life
* Ensure that all machines have the relevant tooling available for the CNC Punch operation
* Perform tool changes as, and when, required when the secondary machine may stop because of the said change
* Establish and maintain a monitoring system for all tooling to ensure that the full tool life is achieved
* Assist the Team Leader, and liaising with the Material Handlers, coordinate the BRA, CNC program and tool kit for machines in the area to ensure optimum productivity
* Perform any preventative maintenance on tools and tooling assembly
* Keep a rolling inventory on all tooling and to reorder when necessary
* Operate machines temporarily when colleagues fail to maintain a two machine operation
* Ensure safe working of the tool grinder
* Perform planned maintenance on the tool grinder to ensure reliability
* Perform any training on the CNC machines and on tool maintenance
* Correct programme errors out of office hours where this is possible
* Work within the company management system, processes and procedures, so as to be fully compliant with all standards, legislation, governance and specifications
* Ensure the strategic direction, quality, environmental, health and safety policies are understood and where required the objectives, targets and key performance indicators are measured, evaluated and reported to demonstrate continuous improvement of the management system
* Ensure all activities enhances customer satisfaction and meet the requirements of all interested parties

This position is on a three shift pattern. Back shift, early shift and night shift. For these shifts there is a shift premium.
