Service Engineer (Field Based)

Adecco Cheltenham are thrilled to be recruiting for a Service Engineer on behalf of our growing Gloucester based client who are a fantastic employer to work for! The Service Engineer will be responsible for the troubleshooting and repairs of customers' equipment, in addition to providing product training. Please note that following a training period this role will involve a combination of field-based and in-house duties; so the successful candidate will need to have flexibility with working hours, travel and overnight stays when it is required by the business.

We are looking for applicants who have a thorough understanding of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles; with the ability to troubleshoot, repair and calibrate electrical machinery. In addition, we are seeking bubbly and friendly people who enjoy providing excellent levels of customer service!

Duties will include:

·  Providing on-site servicing, calibration, installation and commissioning of equipment.

·  Performing hands-on troubleshooting, service and repairs onsite at customers' premises.

·  Demonstrating products and providing training to customers on-site.

·  Internal liaison with the Applications team in addition to the Customer Support team and Sales & Marketing teams.

·  Developing and creating service documentation and information.

·  Personally answering field service calls and issues arising from field service visits.

·  Completing and submitting maintenance reports and calibration certificates.

·  Delivering 10/10 customer satisfaction through honesty, quality of service and willingness to go the extra mile!

The successful candidate will possess:

·  Experience within a similar role (Service Engineering, Repairs/Maintenance Engineer, Computer Repair Technician etc). You'll have had experience of working in a calibration lab ideally.

·  A thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles is essential for this role. You'll be comfortable with both electrical principles (ie. PCB boards and electrical circuits) and hardware (ie. nuts and bolts, PC architecture).

·  Ideally the successful will possess a HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant technical qualification, but candidates with considerable experience who do not possess this are still invited to apply.

·  The ability and want to travel with work. You'll have a full valid passport with no travel restrictions, and a full driving license.

·  Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work schedules to include spending time away from home.

·  A starting salary of £25,000 - £30,000 (dependant on experience, potential to be flexible for the right person).
