Our client provides vehicle test, validation and engineering services to customers in the automotive, transport, tyre, petrochemical, defence and security industries. An opportunity has become available for a Security Officer to join our client to protect the Company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.

The Security Officer will be working on a rolling week shift pattern i.e., 4 days on and 4 days off. During the 4 working days, you will be working 6.30am - 6.30pm for 2 days and 6.30pm - 6.30am for next 2 days. This is a permanent role based in Millbrook in Bedfordshire offering competitive salary, shift premium and an attractive benefits package.

Role Responsibilities:

*Protection of Company premises, assets and personnel
*Providing emergency response cover to the site, using relevant equipment and training
*Welcoming Guests and providing a positive Guest experience
*Monitoring and authorising entrance and departure of employees, guests and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
*Completing reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorised persons or unusual occurrences
*Inspection and adjustment of security systems, equipment and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering
*Answering all alarms and investigating disturbances
*Conducting searches of personnel and vehicles
*Providing cover of main phone switchboard and Radio Control during non-standard hours
*Acting in accordance with the behaviours for staff at all times

Requires Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

*Previous experience of working in a Security role
*Experience in a customer-focused role
*Good standard of education
*SIA Licence (preferred)
*Having a basic knowledge of IT using Microsoft Office packages
*Good verbal and written communication skills
*The ability to solve problems as they arise
*A good knowledge of customer care
*A confident approach and ability to deal with difficult/confrontational people
*The ability to work with technical equipment (e.g. CCTV and radios)
*The ability to respond positively to stressful situations
*Having teamwork skills
*Being able to follow instructions
*The ability to be patient and flexible, regardless of the situation
*Having a polite and approachable manner at all times
*A non-judgmental approach
*A willingness to learn and take training opportunities when offered
*Having full colour vision
*Having suitable physical fitness
*Flexibility to travel as and when required
*Full UK driving licence
*Willing to work weekends, day and night shifts as it is a rolling week shift pattern.
*SC clearance or ability to achieve this if required
*Willing to undergo a Basic Disclosure (DBS) check
