Adecco have a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established company based in Newbury. Our client is looking for a Retail Credit Controller to work with the customer to help find a financial solution to best service their needs in accordance with contractual terms, and regulatory and statutory requirements. The role is working Monday to Friday offering a salary between £25,000 - £27,000, dependant on experience.

Duties and responsibilities include:

·  Contacting customers via telephone to discuss their outstanding debt repayments

·  Working with the customer to help find a financial solution to best service their needs

·  Alongside the telephone, use statutory notices via email and post to collect overdue receivables bringing customers back to their contractual payment terms.

·  Setting up repayment plans and working with debt counsellors (if required)

·  Setting up and maintaining customer files and protect individual credit files

·  Prepare and action Direct Debits / processing payments

·  Start legal proceedings if debts are not paid within an agreed time, liaising with outsourced collection agencies and solicitors

·  Ensure all correspondence is kept as per the recordkeeping procedure

·  Respond to any queries coming in from customers directly relating to invoices in an informed, constructive and professional manner

·  Audit trail available to internal and external assessors in the event of process-audits taking place

·  Seek, communicate and implement, where appropriate, process improvements to increase efficiency of the Credit Team

·  Work with the team to ensure that the contractual processes are undertaken effectively at all times.

·  Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and specifically that regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority relating to Data Protection, Consumer Credit Act (CCA), Money Laundering, Treating the Customer Fairly ('TCF') and attend continuous training to increase awareness

·  To undertake any other duties as specified from time to time in accordance with business requirements.

Candidates will ideally have/be:

·  Customer care experience working within a regulated environment

·  Retail Collections experience

·  Firm knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act (CCA) Data Protection and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) an advantage

·  Strong communication and negotiation skills

·  Demonstrate empathy with all customers at all levels

·  The ability to explain financial matters clearly

·  Must be seen to be calm and assured under pressure

·  Excellent administrative and prioritisation

·  Good command of computer skills inc. MS Office Excel

·  Must be seen as proactive and enthusiastic demonstrating a "can do" attitude, being flexible and willing to carry out a wide variety of tasks and activities as required, according to the changing requirements of the business

·  Build relationships with a variety of different individuals both within the team and across the business and to be seen as approachable and willing to get involved

·  Excellent numeracy

·  Educated to GCSE or equivalent - Math's & English
