Purchasing Assistant - Engineering

Role:

I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client who is an extremely successful & established specialist engineering firm who are on the lookout for a Purchasing Assistant to join them. They boast an expansive product range and distribute globally and have multi-million pound contracts.

Working week - Monday to Friday - Flexible hours between 7:30am-6:00pm - 7.5 hours a day with a 1 hour lunch.

We are currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join the team; you will be responsible for ordering components in line with build requirements also supporting the purchasing manager.

Job Duties

-Sourcing any materials/services as required by the Purchasing Manager whilst ensuring you keep them updated on progress.

-Utilising the Materials Requirements Planning system to ensure everything is logged and accurately inputted to the system.
-Ensuring that you are enforcing timely conversions of requisitions to purchase orders

-Ensuring that you are highlighting any problems/concerns to the purchasing manager e.g. part supply

-Ensuring all procurement activities are in line with company policy

-Ensuring all information including purchase trails are accurately inputted on the system for audits ect.

-Communicating with suppliers/relevant parties e.g. transit time for due orders.

-And other relevant duties as required.

What we are looking for

- Previous experience in a purchasing role within engineering.

-Comfortable working in a team but also individually

-Confident communicator e.g. able to question transit times from suppliers and resolve issues.

-Confident and skilled using systems such as Microsoft package (Excel skills are a must)
