Production Engineer

Prime responsibility is to create and maintain the master planning as required to meet repeatable and robust manufacturing processes to ensure optimum works order (sequence) and work centre performance.

You need to have the ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications and related documentation and to have enough grasp of the manufacturing materials (Composites), systems and processes to be able to conduct your duties.

You need to have strong communication skills, be mathematically competent and be capable of using computers, operating various software systems such as MRP (Infor Evolution), MS Office (Excel) and various CAD viewing.

You will be required to maintain a technical interface and offer support and feedback between the Design, Programmes, Production, Purchasing and Quality departments.

You will need to implement best practice engineering, verifying the design as appropriate, identifying the required tooling and applying sensible quality gates to ensure progressive production.

You will be required to utilise lean practices minimising works order and production stages, product movement and material usage, to establish part parameters improving manufacturing and purchasing lead times and batch quantities.

Typical activities include to:

·  Provide Manufacturing Information Sheets, route cards, BOM (bill of materials), building planning structure and manufacturing specification data in accordance with company standards.

·  Specify material requirements, parameters and define suitable methods of manufacture and identify and implement required tooling and equipment.

·  Create test specifications and manufacture of composite test samples, including the rework of test parts for production use.

·  Develop processes to a production steady state standard that meets specification and design intent.

·  Understand the industrial processes and specification to offer informed advice on "make or buy decisions".

·  Support design and customer reviews and other meetings as required.

·  Support Production and Quality Assurance in resolving production problems and non-conformances.

·  Utilise Lean Principles to improve the product, process flow, build cycle and waste reduction.

Package:

·  £30,000 - £40,000 (Dependant on experience)
