We have an exciting opportunity to work for a major FMCG company based in Plymouth, for a Principle Technologist Laboratory role.

Pay: £128.67 per day

Full time 37.5 hours

6 months contract role

Job Description:

·  To provide analytical and sensory technical expertise to support the quality of ingredients, process and finished products at the site.

·  Responsible for delivering technical operational Quality and Lab support.

·  To be responsible for analytical and sensory evaluation of raw materials, process materials and finished products, in line with global and regional quality standards.

·  Responsible for running the laboratory function and sensory factory program from prioritising and organisation of analysis, reporting of results an ensuring calibration and maintenance of equipment/sensory panellists.

·  Responsible for Health and Safety of the laboratory.

·  Responsible for laboratory contractors and ensuring their induction and risk assessments are in place.

·  Executes periodic factory environmental swabbing program and annual water and finished product analysis, including submission of samples to external labs and reporting of end results.

What we need from you:

·  Degree in Chemistry

·  Proven experience working within a laboratory

·  Proven experience in the food, cosmetic and/or drug industry

·  Working in an accredited laboratory is an advantage

·  Passion for quality

·  Prioritisation skills

·  Ability to learn new testing and analytical methods

·  Practical knowledge of lab testing methods including liquid and gas chromatography

·  Strong collaborator
