Main Responsibilities Operational

 To support senior colleagues (PSS and academic) in the delivery of Years 3-5 Peer Support activities in enhancing the student experience.

 Design, deliver and evaluate bespoke out-of-hours training sessions and workshops for students and relevant support and academic staff (such as Peer Mentor/PASS training, on-going skills workshops and planning sessions) in line with Institutional requirements.

 Lead in the organisation of Years 3-5 Peer Support events. Liaising with Hospital Deans, Sector Student Experience Leads, Admin staff and students to organise these events.

 To oversee and attend, when required, Student Coordinator, Sector Student Experience Leads and Peer Mentor network meetings, in order to ensure effective communication, and the sharing of good practice between Sectors.

 To project manage the overall recruitment, and appointment of a team of Peer Mentors and Student Coordinators; providing training, on-going support, motivation and intervention when necessary.

 To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with students and staff within Medicine at Manchester, Faculty and central university offices, and Base Hospital Sector staff. Providing advice, information and guidance on procedures as necessary, as well as maintaining an up to date knowledge of peer support trends within FBMH and the wider university.

 Implementing and maintaining relevant monitoring and reporting measures against an agreed set of criteria to ensure that the Peer Support activities are properly evaluated; including the gathering and dissemination of student feedback.

 Create and distribute Years 3-5 Peer Support marketing information and updates to all Peer Support stakeholders using a variety of methods. Evaluating and changing content/format as appropriate. This includes developing and updating the online Peer Support presence on current MMS platforms including 1Med Buzz.

 To raise awareness, and showcase Years 3-5 Peer Support successes through a variety of methods including; presentations, conferences, University newsletters, and brochures.

 Process funding applications and expenses requests.

 Responsible for provision of support to the student society funding committee.

 Support the Director of Student Experience and careers team in the organisation of careers events.

 To inform the ongoing strategic direction of peer support through evaluation of current practice.

 To act as secretary for the Medicine at Manchester Student Experience Team meetings. Providing update reports when necessary to other Medicine at Manchester committees.

 Responsible for designing and maintaining the Years 3-5 Peer Support implementation plan and annual Peer support calendar of activity.

 To work with colleagues within the central University Peer Support team to plan and organise tasks required to implement Peer Support into Medicine at Manchester, in line with Institutional requirements.

 Working closely with the Student Experience Team Committee and Director of Student Experience to ensure the tasks are completed on time and to the quality required.

 Liaising with students to ensure the future Years 3-5 peer support strategy is relevant to and embraced by the Student body.

 To work closely with the Year 1 Peer Mentoring scheme already in place, to streamline and develop Peer Support further into Medicine at Manchester. To work with colleagues at central University Alumni to develop an on-going alumni relations strategy; including a Year 5 retention strategy, alumni networking events and online mentoring. Including the ongoing delivery and evaluation of the online 'AskMeAnything' campaigns.

 Assist with supervision of the University Peer Support Intern.

 To provide support to the Division of Medical Education Widening Participation initiatives
