Name of role: Operational Caseworker

Grade: Executive Officer

Location: HYBRID 40% office, 60% WFH

The Capital Building, 6 Union Street, Liverpool, L3 9PP

Salary : £ 13.33 per hour

Duration: Twelve (12) months. To start once security clearance is obtained

Hours: FULL TIME Mon-Fri, 9:00 - 17:00 Flexible hours may be negotiated

Job Description

Immigration Enforcement is a professional law enforcement organisation that drives action across the Border, Immigration and Citizenship system, in conjunction with cross-Government partners.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, as Operations Caseworker, to conduct regular and often complex case reviews, including consideration of written representations, of non-compliant behaviour and any mitigation and to respond to this in line with immigration bail policy and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Daily workflow shift management duties

·  Schedule and perform EM case reviews in line with immigration bail policy, making appropriate decisions regarding the commencement, variation and cessation of EM conditions

·  Coordinate the response to failed EM commencements and proposing the next course of action subject to the facts of the case

·  Actively support staff and senior managers with the continuous improvement of internal business processes and procedures required to deliver EM for service users

·  Monitor the team mailbox and helpline and perform triage duties to respond to enquiries and field correspondence as appropriate. On occasion may be required to commence monitoring the mailbox and helpline at 7am or finish at 7pm. This will be done on a rota basis.

Essential criteria:

·  Attention to detail and strong ability to make balanced, fact-based decisions against the specific details of each individual case and in line with immigration bail policy and guidance.

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·  Demonstrate experience of using IT including (Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel)

·  Ability to manage own and team workload

·  Work to departmental/ organisational priorities and prioritise competing demands

·  A strong team player, acting corporately and progressively

·  Ability to use own initiative and demonstrate a can-do working style

·  Proven track record of good decision-making skills to effectively resolve issues

Security Clearance:

Due to the sensitive nature of the work, we will need to apply, on your behalf, for security clearance and you will need to meet the following requirements:

·  Resided in the UK for the last 3 years

·  Have a *current* British Passport or settlement status

·  NI Number

·  2 x proof of addresses (all in UK)

·  5 years full history with no gaps of more than 1 month

·  3 years solid reference with no gaps of more than 1 month

Due to the nature of the work at the Home Office, the role can be subject to change based on the business needs at the time. Therefore, they need candidates with a flexible nature that can deal with change.

If placed into a role you will undergo extensive training and the expectation is that you will stay in that role for the duration of the assignment, or a minimum of 4 months, before we can reassign you into a different business area. If you feel the role upon offer is not suitable you will need to discuss this prior to undergoing training.
