·  Deliver a consistent, Council-wide programme of communications based on agreed communications strategies in line with corporate priorities

·  Promote a positive image of the Council and explain its policies to residents, employees, businesses, visitors, tourists and other target groups

·  Manage the Newham brand including the provision of communications advice, public affairs work and representing the Council on external bodies

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of successfully planning and delivering integrated campaigns using a wide range of techniques and channels. They will have substantial experience of working collaboratively across a large organisation and with a range of external stakeholders. While championing clarity and consistency in marketing communications, we will also expect the successful candidate to demonstrate innovation in engaging with a local audience. Knowledge and experience of local government or related sectors is desirable. We require creative thinkers who are able to quickly adapt to changing priorities and goals, and always work to highest standards and levels of accuracy in all their work.. As well as being able to work as part of a team you will also be able to self-motivate .
