Summary

The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for aligning the needs of the business units within the EMEA region with the capabilities delivered by information technology. Under the supervision of the Manager, EMEA IT Business Relationship the BA analyses and synthesizes information provided by individual business units and serves as a translator between workgroups simplifying complex technology language for better understanding. At every stage the BA must try to understand the needs of the stakeholders and work to satisfy them with appropriate solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

*Works under the supervision of the Business Relationship Manager with appropriate business unit stakeholders to understand project concept, objectives and approach.
*Assists the Manager, EMEA IT Business Relationship in coordinating the assigned project from original concept through final implementation: defining project scope and objectives, creating and maintaining project schedules by developing project plan and specifications, estimating time requirements, tracking all phases of the project product/service lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions, and resolving conflicts.
*Documents, prioritizes and tracks requests (changes, enhancements, etc.) and coordinates with change management processes.
*Conducts regular project meetings with the business units and Manager, EMEA IT Business Relationship.
*Works closely with IT personnel, Manager, EMEA IT Business Relationship and the business unit to identify and maximize opportunities to use information technology to improve product, service and/or business processes.
*Reviews, analyses, and creates detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including workflow, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
*Consults with Manager, EMEA IT Business Relationship to determine business and functional requirements and IT personnel for technical requirements for specified applications.
*Coordinates the development of all approved versions of business and functional specifications for specified applications. Reviews user's cases and other technical documents with IT project staff to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents.
*Responsible to ensure and provide to the Manager, EMEA IT Business Relationship all documentation making sure it accurately reflects the current status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions.
*Manages specific application quality assurance and coordinates with the IT help desk including the tracking of bug reports and change requests and ensuring their timely resolution.
*Proactively assists the Manager, EMEA IT Business Relationship with the identification of training and development requirements of the business unit: help to design and implement training and development initiatives that will continuously upgrade the skills and capabilities of personnel in the business unit using IT systems and services.
*Provides support and act as contact point for daily issues as necessary: this includes daily questions that they do not know where to direct and can trigger the escalation to Management in Top Desk ticketing system.
*Become "functional expert" on all areas of the outward facing websites and Social Media to help with answering questions for the other BA's working in similar areas.

Minimum Job Requirements

Skills:

*Strong technical skills coupled with business acumen
*Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working as a BA
*Ability to negotiate and convince
*Knowledge of organization processes and workflows
*Demonstrated customer relationship building, problem solving and decision making skills
*Excellent verbal and written customer- oriented communication skills
*Ability to make correct and timely decisions, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
*Skilled at working within a team-oriented / collaborative environment to complete work
*Willingness to work non-standard hours as needed

Experience & Education

*Bachelor degree in Management of Information Systems or related discipline and/or equivalent in work experience.
*Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification preferred.
*ITIL v3
*Other related certifications a plus.
*Knowledge of a foreign language: German, Italian, Spanish is preferable.
