World leading manufacturing organisation based in Barry are looking to recruit an instrument design engineer to work on an ongoing basis 40 hours per week.

Competitive salary negotiable depending on experience

Core Responsibilities:

The Instrument Design Engineer role acts as a technical resource for the Instrument discipline under the direction of the Instrument Discipline Coordinator. He/she work within the Global Project Methodology (GPM) work process for the successful implementation of front end, detailed design engineering and construction services for projects at the Barry site.

The Instrument Discipline Engineer role key responsibilities are:

� Preparation and checking of instrument design packages

� Design of different types of instrument systems - pressure, flow, temperature, condition monitoring, BMS, control valves, actuators.

� Site surveys and field checking of dimensions.

� Applies the Global Project Methodology and Instrument Discipline Engineering Work Process

� Coordination of design with other disciplines, construction and with external design services.

� Recognition and identification of design change via change control procedure.

� Representing the instrument team in design review and model review meetings.

� Ensure that the Instrument design is safe, meets Loss Prevention Principles' and other EH&S requirements.

� Provides input to project schedule and plans, then monitors progress against the plans

� Identifies technical problems and solves them.

Qualities

� A high regard for working in a highly regulated safety environment i.e. COMAH site.

� An ability to work in a multidisciplinary design team.

� Able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and prioritise effectively.

� Excellent communication skills, organizational and work coordination skills, and interpersonal skills are also critical to role success

Required Qualifications

� Instrument design engineering experience within an industrial environment

� Bachelor or Master's degree in Instrumentation and/or Control Engineering

� Experience of and ability to work with 3D model tools

Experience of Hazardous Area Classification and the ATEX
