Overall Purpose of the Job:

* To support the management of all aspects of staff data reporting, helping to shape the strategic roadmap and maximise the use of functionality in the various systems

* To provide knowledge and expertise on any aspects of the staff data (including definitions, protocols and processes)

* To act as an interface between operational teams and internal and external stakeholders - to ensure that the overall approach to the delivery of HR reporting is consistent and comprehensive

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

* To act as the key contact for HR data reporting requests (managing the HR Systems reporting schedule (including statutory, calendar driven and ad hoc reporting.

* To triage all incoming staff data related Freedom of Information requests, coordinating timely responses or directing to other colleagues/business areas as necessary

* To author, develop and maintain a suite of reporting templates - to be used by university-wide stakeholders and provide comprehensive support for their use and development

* To support data assimilation relating to the annual Staff Return

* To review existing reporting methodology and processes to identify ways of streamlining/delivering efficiencies, working with colleagues to maximise the system functionality to automate processes where possible

* To assist with managing data quality - working closely with colleagues to orchestrate/disseminate exception/error reports - helping to highlight gaps and working with the training colleagues to support this process

* To work with colleagues as an integral part of the planning, implementation and ongoing development of HR Systems functions (including the Systems Roadmap)

* To create governance structures around managing reporting volumes and key priorities ( liaising directly with relevant stakeholders * To contribute to the development of the long-term Management Information schedule and help define how we could introduce new and improved technology

* To assimilate new reporting requirements into existing schedules/activity strands

* To coordinate and facilitate all relevant external surveys and act as a key conduit on related matters

* To assist with the management of external and internal audit visits

* To support training on reporting standards and support knowledge transfer

* To establish and operate a change control process to ensure that reporting developments comply with established standards

* To resolve areas of difficulty on Discoverer and Power BI (i.e. data not being pulled through correctly from ResourceLink and issues surrounding domains/business areas.

* To work directly with IT colleagues to ensure that all relevant Discoverer/Power BI business domains are up to date and functional

* To ensure that data is handled and stored in line with University data security policies and impart knowledge in this area

To introduce and implement best practice model/protocols on data reporting and help inform users of end to end processes

* To support system developments and enhancements, establishing or creating new protocols, applying practical application and working closely with the ResourceLink Trainer

* To support implementation/assimilation of new software features/functionality (including reviewing current working practices)

* To support and coordinate various meetings and networking groups

* To undertake any additional project work or ad hoc tasks - as assigned by senior colleagues, commensurate with the level of the role
