Job Description:

The overall purpose of the HR Officer is to support delivery of an effective, efficient and legally compliant Human Resource service across the employee life cycle in a way that aligns with the Corporate Plan and People Strategy.

The HR Officer will be the first point of contact for Line Managers and Investigating Managers in providing advice and support on all employee relations issues that will minimise the risk of litigation. You will also help to ensure fair and consistent delivery throughout the organisation on HR policies and procedures and take a proactive lead on provision of advice to staff and managers on policy interpretation and management of employee terms and conditions.

At a strategic level you will support Policy/Procedural implementation, development and amendment because of change in employment legislation and/or the business strategic direction.

In addition, the HR Officer will operate alongside the wider people team in providing advisory support to managers and staff across the suite of HR related activities throughout the Employee Life Cycle.

Main Responsibilities:

·  To develop and maintain a robust case management recording system and to report on this to the organisation as

·  To provide advice and guidance to Line Managers in relation to consultation, restructure and redundancy processes in accordance with employment law and applicable change management

·  Provide coaching and guidance to line managers on handling sensitive staff issues where personal involvement is not

·  To advise line managers in respect of sickness absence and provide support tailored to individual circumstances within context of short term/long term attendance management procedure.

·  To liaise with the Occupational Health provider as

·  To maintain legally compliant sickness absence data and report on this on a monthly basis, identifying notable trends and developing intervention strategies to support improved healthy

·  To pro-actively advise and support line managers in recruitment and selection activities ensuring consistency

·  To be responsible for issuing offer letters and contracts of employment and ensuring candidate compliance with necessary pre-employment

·  Maintenance of legally compliant recruitment and selection data and reporting on this, identifying notable trends and developing intervention strategies at an organisational and localised level to support improvements in recruitment and

·  Lead the processes for the management of induction and probation for new starters including the planning, organising and delivery of the corporate induction day for new starters and ensuring probation is managed appropriately.

·  Working with the wider HR team to help shape the services in the HR function to meet the needs of customers and stakeholders (internal and external) this includes partnership working and employee

·  Assist with the creation and implementation of employee initiatives to ensure that all employees feel engaged and valued

·  Ensure that the business operates within all regulatory guidance, statutory and legislative requirements.

·  Ensure that all policies, processes and guidance notes are up to date and in line with best practice and current legislation including compliance with the principles of GDPR
