Our client, a well known and successful organisation are looking to recruit a HR Adviser to start ASAP . The role is for a period of 3 months Salary £18.70ph.

Role Description:

To provide high quality advice and support to Directors, Managers and Employees on employee relations matters and support the delivery of HR strategy within relevant client groups.

Main responsibilities:

1. To provide advice and guidance to managers on employment relations issues and manage cases through every stage including disciplinaries, grievances and absence.

2. To develop and review policies to ensure legislative compliance and alignment with organisational goals and HR strategy.

3. To work with the HR Business Partner in identifying workforce trends/issues and support the formulation of interventions to address these.

4. To enable the organisational change process by advising and supporting individuals and managers on job descriptions, team and departmental structures, business process improvements, as well as redeployment and redundancy issues.

5. To support the HR Business Partner with major change programs as appropriate.

6. To liaise with the HR Learning and Development team on employee learning and development to build capability and drive a high performance culture at Macmillan, highlighting needs and ensuring appropriate interventions are implemented. This may include design and delivery of training interventions.

7. To support managers with performance management by developing approaches that foster high performing teams and ensure that underperformance is fairly and consistently dealt with.

8. To provide managers with advice on salary and benefits ensuring that principles of reward strategy are consistently applied and salary benchmarking conducted as appropriate.

9. To liaise with the HR Operations Team and wider HR to ensure cohesive operational support to the business.

10. In conjunction with the HRBP, to have responsibility for authorising vacancy requests and individual changes to terms and conditions on our recruitment and HR systems

11. To work (on a rota basis) on the HR Helpdesk.

12. To work with other HRBP team colleagues to ensure consistent approach across the organisation.

Skills required:

Definition of skill level:

1. Basic understanding through minimal experience or training

2. Good working knowledge and ability in simple context

3. Sound knowledge and ability in variety of contexts

4. Expert knowledge and ability to provide coaching/consultancy

Knowledge required:

* Sound knowledge of employment law Education or professional qualification

* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with formal CIPD membership/qualification or working towards this
Legislation and policy

* Advocate for equality, diversity and fairness

* Understanding of employment legislation best practice and HR policy and procedure

Best practice:

* Pragmatic and solutions focused

* Strong customer focus and personal credibility to build productive working relationships at all levels

Essential experience required:

* Worked in a progressive HR function, providing advocacy and guidance on all areas of HR activity, with a focus on employment relations matters.
