Due to a recent restructure of the business, my client, a market leading flooring company based in Solihull, are now looking to appoint a progressive and forward-thinking Finance Officer to be an integral part of their team. You will be reporting in to the Finance senior team, however there will be a fair degree of autonomy attached to this role!

·  Hours of work - Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

Responsibilities to include:

·  Provide a high level of customer service and be a key point of contact on financial matters

·  General Bookkeeping

·  (AP/AR/Bank Reconciliation/ Month-end close - accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other journal entries)

·  General office administration

·  Dealing with utility suppliers, insurance, subscriptions, fleet management

·  Managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions

·  Manage supplier and customer queries ensuring that they are resolved resulting in timely payments being made and received

·  Highlighting any concerns and issues to the senior team

·  Prepare accurate and timely supplier payment runs

·  Assisting with payroll preparation for weekly and monthly payroll runs

·  Maintaining an effective filing and records system, (manual and electronic)

·  Bank and credit card reconciliations

·  Managing petty cash transactions

·  Assisting with information required for external accountants

·  Ensure confidentiality about company finances and any other matter is adhered to

Skills and experience required:

·  Previous experience in similar role

·  Minimum of 2-3 years previous experience working in a busy finance department

·  AAT or equivalent qualified, or studying towards relevant qualification

·  Prior experience of using QuickBooks or other cloud-based accounting software is an advantage although not essential

·  A clear passion for finance with the desire to progress

·  Proactive and accountable in your approach

·  Meticulous attention to detail and with exceptional organisational skills

·  Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·  Ability to work autonomously and within a team

·  Professional, friendly and positive attitude
