EALING

CONTRACT

MON - FRI

£15.08 PER HOUR

Adecco are currently recruiting for a Finance and Income Officer to work within a Local Authority based in Ealing.

The Finance and Income Officer purpose and duties;

·  To have lead responsibility for administering income through the application of procedures, adherence to policy and the implementation of robust systems to manage the collection of rent from residents occupying Bed and Breakfast, Hostel and Private Sector Accommodations.

·  Through various communication mediums, interviewing techniques and location conduct high quality interview service to homeless households in order to provide welfare benefit advice/assistance, and advice on rent and arrears payment.

·  To adhere to council and local procedures and policies in providing a comprehensive income and financial administration.

·  To cover work and activities within the Business Support Services in connection with financial administration.

·  To ensure Housing Benefit is paid for all customers in temporary/private sector accommodations in order to reduce arrears levels, and maximise the income of the Council or its agents.

·  To work as part of a team in providing financial administration and income management support and advice and guidance or assistance to customers on Housing Benefit claims.

·  To liaise with Social Services, Solicitors, Support Groups and other relevant organisations on financial administration or dealing with rent issues.

Essential Skills/ Experience;

·  Knowledge of the regulations governing the award of housing and welfare benefits.

·  Ability to create and update excel spreadsheets.

·  Knowledge of relevant housing legislation

·  Ability to deal effectively with customers, provide information and advice

·  Good communication skills - verbal and written

·  Computer literacy, particularly MS Office, email, databases and business systems

·  Substantial experience of dealing with rent accounts for a local authority or Housing Association.

·  Experience of working in a housing environment

·  Experience of using IT, databases, information system and MS Office

·  Experience of attending court to give evidence of rent arrears to obtain a possession and money judgement order.
