The post holder will work as part of a dynamic, flexible team and will be required to provide administrative and technical support (finance and information) to support the Greater Manchester Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) to meet their statutory EUR obligations.

1.Role specific duties and responsibilities

*Provide non-clinical advice in a sensitive and confidential manner to the general public, patients and health professionals in writing, telephone conversations and face to face meetings.

*Generate a significant amount of written correspondence to patients and clinicians in relation to the IFR process. This is using pre-defined letter templates.

*Supervise the day to day work of the EUR Officers.

*Provide training in relation to the details of the EUR policy, the prior approval schemes, the IFR policy statements, the IFR process and the specialist information systems in use.

*Record timely and relevant data in the specialist information system when dealing with routine and specialist enquires, individual funding requests and prior approvals.

*Responsible for ensuring the data quality of the specialist information system is promoted and maintained.

*Responsible for ensuring the screening stage of the IFR process is delivered in accordance with the EUR policy in an efficient and effective way. Analysing prior approvals and individual treatment requests against prior approval criteria and IFR policy statements and determine decisions for requests.

*Reviewguidance, precedent cases etc. for treatments and drug requests as and when required.

*Provide administrative support to the clinical triage meetings, panel meetings and process review panels. This includes gathering, summarising and circulating relevant information within the timescales described in the EUR policy and transcribing formal minutes.

*Provide routine and ad hoc analytical reports to various meetings/forums and the EUR Manager including completing Freedom of Information requests in line with given timescales.

*Present IFR cases to panel as and when required.

*Develop strong relationships and work in partnership with other functions within the GM CSS i.e. finance, contracting, service redesign and procurement. For example contract
validations/challenges.

*Liaise with stakeholders i.e. CCGs, providers to resolve any issues related to invoice payment.

*Travel across Greater Manchester will be required. Therefore the post holder needs to be a car owner/driver.
