Adecco Bolton are currently recruiting on behalf of the local authority, to work on an on-going temporary basis. 37 hours a week, Monday-Friday.

The overall role will be to effectively and efficiently undertake the delivery of a broad range of environmental health duties in order to maintain, improve and promote living, working and trading conditions throughout the Borough.

Key duties:

-To contribute in the preparation of, and to participate in, the implementation of work programmes and strategies.

-To give professional advice, aimed at increasing public awareness of Environmental Health issues.
-To undertake specific duties allocated and/or detailed in work programmes.
-To instigate informal and formal enforcement action, as necessary, including the preparation of cases for legal proceedings and attendance in Court as required in accordance with national policy guidance.
-To prepare and present reports and to represent the Service as required at area fora, committees, meetings, seminars and joint liaison bodies.
-To participate in the promotion of Environmental Health initiatives.

Required Skills/experience:

-Excellent organisational, communication, negotiation and IT skills with flexibility in response to changing demands.
-You will have obtained a degree/diploma in Environment Health as an EHO with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board.

-Post qualification experience of food and health safety law enforcement.

-Experience in prosecutions; including serving notices, preparing legal files and giving evidence in court.
