Our Newcastle based Public Sector client is looking for a temporary Deputy Financial Accountant.

To be responsible for leading an accounts payable project with the department and the continued development of the purchase order and invoice authorisation process.

To act as the key contact for accounts payable and to play a key role in the project by identify and making recommendations to resolve complex issues relating to purchase orders and the invoice authorisation process with the client. Liaise with external suppliers as required.

Suitable candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to analysis complex information for accounts payable and accounts receivable and identify and resolve issues. Have responsibility for producing information to support internal monthly reporting on accounts payable and accounts receivable balances.

Support reviews of financial systems, financial controls and processes by internal and external audit and act on their rec commendations.

Detailed understanding of accounting procedures (reconciliation and balances, VAT payments and deductions, finance computer systems and ledgers, coding structures, payroll agreements and procedures)

Experience of managing the accounts payable process within a large organisation and setting performance, quality standards and Kip's.
