We are recruiting on behalf of a large, well-known organisation for a credit controller to work on a full time basis beginning immediately in Birmingham Business Park. This is a temporary placement, initially covering long-term sickness but could be extended past the original three months. Working hours are 8.30am - 4.45pm and the hourly rate for this role will be £10 per hour. THE ROLE
Forward thinking, determined, self-motivated team member, working within a small team to primarily ensure that they minimise their credit risk and ensure all accounts are paid on time, maximising cash flow and preventing account arrears. Managing and setting appropriate credit limits.
Accurately assisting with forecasting Cash Flow and DSO and fully reconciling these important KPI's to actuals. Focusing on aged debt to determine bad debt provision. Produce monthly KPI reports and confidently present to management and other stakeholders.
Continually looking at process improvements to not only eliminate waste but to provide customers with first class customer service. Delivering results on challenging targets and at all times following company policy and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Follow credit policy around both the creation of new customer accounts and credit limit management without exception to minimise the risk of bad debt and support sales.
Fully conversant with credit reports and set/review appropriate credit limits to fit within the company requirements, by demonstrating working knowledge of P&L accounts and balance sheet statements. Being confident in discussing and debating customers' financial results.

ADDITIONAL PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Effective communication with sales, distribution, FOS and AP teams to resolve customer queries to ensure payments from customers are not held up by internal queries
Manage business relationships to ensure cash collection and other targets are achieved
Utilising all possible payment methods - BAC's, CHAP's, Direct Debits, Credit Cards, Cheques etc
Interface with AR/Treasury to ensure that cash allocations are performed accurately and timely
Ensure that queries with amounts due for payment are identified in good time to achieve resolution and payment
Monitor customers to ensure that any risk trends are identified at an early stage to minimise the risk of bad debt and report accordingly
Ensure compliance with the internal controls framework set up by the business
Ensure that business process documentation for the business processes are reviewed regularly to ensure that it is up to date
