Our client provides vehicle test, validation and engineering services to customers in the automotive, transport, tyre, petrochemical, defence and security industries. It has a range of test facilities for components and full vehicles which include varied indoor and outdoor test tracks, engine dynamometers, environmental chambers, crash laboratories and advanced emissions chassis dynamometers.

They are currently looking for a Crash Test Engineer to join their Safety team based in Millbrook, Bedfordshire on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with the customer and/or witnessing authority to establish testing requirements. In addition, the role holder will prepare, execute and report on full scale crash tests, and advise the customer on test methods and processes. The Engineer will be predominantly working day shifts - Mon to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities:

*Establish test content including review and inclusion of any regulatory requirements
*Provide costing information for quote preparation
*Prepare internal test execution documentation and liaise with customer and internal operations group
*Responsibility for correct and complete execution of test to the satisfaction of the customer and any relevant legal or quality standards
*Test data approval to the requirements of SAE J211 or similar
*Preparation of test reports and/or customer data packs
*Support and generate continuous improvement initiatives
*Support business development activities
*Carry out vehicle measurements on behalf of the customer (3D digital measurement)
*Act in accordance with the behaviours for staff at all times

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

*Degree or similar in an Engineering discipline
*Experience in testing to European/Federal regulations and also consumer test protocols considered essential
*Working in an ISO 17025 environment
*Sound knowledge of mechanical principles associate with vehicle safety testing
*Excellent oral and written communicator
*IT literate
*Knowledge of high speed data and video capture considered an advantage
*Excellent attention to detail
*Customer focused
*Must be able to work independently and in a team
*Able to work on multiple projects
*Prepared to work overtime as required
*Full UK driving license
