Adecco Poole and Bournemouth are delighted to be assisting one of our local clients in their search for a Citizens in Policing Coordinator.

This is a 6-month contract role.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing enabling the development of the Citizens in Policing (CIP) strategy within the Force and to embed a positive volunteering culture within Dorset Police.

Responsibilities

·  To plan and coordinate the development and roll-out of Volunteer Police Cadet units across the Force area.

·  To have responsibility for connections with the voluntary sector and partner agencies to increase support for policing objectives, including liaison with youth services.

·  Work closely with HR Recruitment to be able to identify suitable applicants for vacancies / requirements.

·  To promote and assist with the establishment of new cadet units across the Force area, including the management and supervision of events and activities undertaken by the cadet units.

·  Arrange and provide support for strategic meetings. Provide input to help determine agenda items.

·  To be a point of contact for the public enquiring about volunteering opportunities with Dorset Police.

The Ideal Candidate

·  Excellent written and verbal communications skills with good customer focus and experience of handling written, phone or electronic customer contact.

·  Excellent organisational and planning skills including prioritisation, to ensure deadlines and targets are met, with experience of developing initiatives or projects

·  Must have the ability to deal with staffing issues sensitively and confidentially and assess appropriate outcomes under policies and procedures - referring to others as appropriate. Ability to act with integrity and represent the organisation in a highly professional manner.

·  Must be able to demonstrate an ability to work on own initiative, seeking advice and escalating appropriately and work as part of a team

·  Experience of managing or coordinating staff or volunteers, including developing, supporting and motivating individuals. Able to nurture a cohesive team culture to ensure high performance.

·  Must have excellent IT skills and able to demonstrate competence across a variety of computer systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel
