This is an exciting opportunity to join our client as a Contract Development Officer based in the area of Tower Hamlets

Start date: ASAP
Hours: 35 hours Mon to Fri (09:00:AM - 05:00:PM)
Salary: £17.51 PAYE Umbrella £22.25

Support for waste collection contracts, Contact and liaison between contractor and customer contact.

To support the Team Leader in delivering the objectives of projects within the Recycling Improvement and Engagement programme to help minimise waste, increase recycling and reduce contamination.
These include:

·  implementing waste education programmes and campaigns with residents and within the area

·  delivering waste infrastructure improvements on estates

·  identifying and engaging with relevant stakeholders

·  liaising with internal and external partners, charities, housing and resident groups.

Identify and liaise with key stakeholders to develop and carry out waste reduction and reuse initiatives and events in the community, including swap events, borrowing networks. Support the establishment of a community composting scheme, promote and manage the home composting scheme.

Assist in developing partnerships with housing providers and landlords to help deliver waste and recycling improvements on estates and in block of flats. Carry out site visits to determine correct waste and recycling infrastructure is in place. Assist in managing the roll out of waste and recycling improvements.

Work face-to-face with residents to encourage them to improve waste and recycling behaviours and develop outreach initiatives in the community, such as recycling champions and special interest groups.

Support educational establishments, to deliver waste and recycling improvements within their premises. Deliver waste awareness and education programmes.

Contribute to the expansion of recycling and organics collection services to non-domestic premises generating household waste. Contribute to the improvement of the commercial waste services, providing education and support to businesses and promoting recycling collections.

Carry out surveys, participation monitoring, door knocking and other activities to help support the development of improvements to the waste and recycling services.
