Adecco are currently recruiting a Conference Host for our client based in Glasgow City Centre. This is a temporary role for various shifts in March 2020.

As Conference Host you will provide a first-class support service to conference organisers, delegates and visitors, ensuring that their customer experience is of the highest standard. The role is the first line of guest service within the venue, and incorporates all aspects of service provision which enable organisers to make effective use of the facilities, including setting up rooms, basic audio-visual support, building familiarisation/wayfinding, and dealing with any issues as they arise.

Pay rate: £9.06ph, weekly pay.

Monday 16 th - 10:30 - 18:30

Thursday 19 th - 08:00 - 15:00
Tuesday 24 th - 09:00 - 17:00
Wednesday 25 th - 10:00 - 18:00
Thursday 26 th - 10:00 - 18:00
Friday 27 th - 08:00 - 16:00

Responsibilities

·  To provide assistance and support to conference and event organisers and their delegates, ensuring that their customer experience is first-class.

·  To support the Conference Operations Co-ordinators and the Conference Porter in ensuring that all conference rooms and areas are set according to the client's specification, recognising that these specifications may be subject to amendment at short notice.

·  To ensure that all conference rooms and public areas are kept clean, tidy and presentable throughout the day.

·  To familiarise clients and their delegates with the building, including preparation of digital and physical signage, wayfinding; and providing general support/advice to ensure that clients and delegates are able to make the most of their visit to the facility.

·  To support the Conference Porter in offering a portering service to clients as required; and in ensuring that all furniture and materials are appropriately stored within agreed storage spaces.

·  To provide first-line audio-visual support to clients using equipment installed in the rooms - connecting laptops, switching on screens, projectors, microphones, and offering basic advice on their use. More complex IT/AV advice/ support will be provided by in-house Technicians.

·  To work with the Conference Operations Co-ordinators on forward operational planning to ensure effective service delivery, making recommendations to the Conference & Events Officers as appropriate.
