Job description

Adecco have an exciting role just in today for an Assistant Production Manager to join our local client on a permanent basis. This is an excellent time to join the company.

In this role you will have many responsibilities, some will include:

* Receive, input and analyse customer orders and assign duties, responsibilities and work stations to employees to meet order requirements
* Assist in the managing of stock and raw materials to ensure customer orders can be met and products are always produced and dispatched on specification
* Inspect supplies, equipment, products and work areas to ensure conformance to standards
* Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to achieve business benefits such as increase product quality, better job safety, increased profitability, reduced costs
* Plan the daily staff rotas and take charge of staff on duty
* Supervise and direct the production employees and ensure production is running efficiently, safely and meeting production standards and quality
* Work alongside production teams in the manufacture, packing and dispatch of product in line agreed company procedures and standards and customer specifications
* Assist in the training and supervision of team members in all aspects of product preparation including in handling, production, weighing and storage rules and methods, safe machine operation, cleaning, stock control and safety procedures
* Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and processes are met
* Conduct daily staff meetings for the day ahead
* Contribute towards disciplinary write-ups where necessary
* Supervise and participate in effective cleaning and tidying activities
* Hand over to next shift supervisor / manager a detailed hand-off report

To be considered for this role you must have the following:

* Attention to detail in checking that quality standards and operating documents and standards are being met and adhered to at all times
* Able to deal with pressure and meeting tight deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and motivating workers and being positive
* Positively contributing to meetings, training sessions and project teams
* Health and safety requirement awareness
* Effective staff training, development and coaching methods
* Excellent people and time management skills
* Daily reports and paperwork
* Excellent IT skills
