As an Assistant Financial Accountant you will play a critical role in our clients finance department by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, preparing financial statements, and assisting with financial analysis.

Job Description:
A Financial Accountant is responsible for managing the financial transactions and reporting processes of an organisation. They work to maintain financial records, adhere to accounting principles, and provide valuable insights to support informed financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with relevant accounting standards
Bookkeeping: Record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and up-to-date.
Reconciliation: Perform regular bank, account, and inter company reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Audit Support: Assist in preparing financial data and documentation for internal and external audits. Address audit inquiries and implement audit recommendations.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide explanations as needed.
Variance Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and variances. Provide insights into financial performance and recommend corrective actions.
Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. Stay updated on changes in tax codes that may impact the organisation.
Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards. Recommend improvements and updates as necessary.
Financial Systems: Utilise financial software and systems to maintain and analyse financial data efficiently. Recommend system improvements if needed.
Financial Advisory: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making by management. Assist in financial planning and risk assessment
Month-end and Year-end Close: Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is typically required. Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) may be preferred.
Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations, Part Qualified and working towards CCA Qualification
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in financial analysis and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software, spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
