Purpose
The business unit generates over 100 new packs every year across the multiple segments. The job holder will own the design and packaging for all products within all categories.
The primary objective is to ensure all new designs are created and moved into print on time, to agreed costs, with great impact, and in line with brand guidelines, marketing code, customer and legal requirements.
The job holder will be the key creative contact with MCDT in the following categories; Drinks, Desserts, Powders, Spreads, Sauces, Lifestyle Choices, Ice Cream & Cakes.
The job holder will also support the Marketing Manager with PR and Marketing across all categories.
DIMENSION:
Number of artworks: 100+ activities per year
Suppliers: circa 12 co-manufacturers, 6 distributors, 6 agencies.
Segments: 9 +
Primary Customer: GM for D&T, Global Brand Leaders, Local Marketing Brand Heads
Meeting Forums: Activity Meetings across all categories where appropriate, NPD idea sessions, all Design Agency meetings, Category Meetings, Brand Approval Meetings, Market Research sessions, MAG meetings, Team Impact Meetings (4 PA) PR Agency meetings
Job Description
Artwork Coordinator responsibilities:
*Gather specifications needed for the execution of packaging artworks
*Briefing external artwork agencies
*Review and manage relationship with external artwork agencies
*Own the full life- cycle of packaging artwork creation and approval - be responsible for the full process in audits (internal/external)
*Coordinate photography
*Work closely with other teams and stakeholders to coordinate the whole process from concept to print- ready artwork
*Monitor new market trends in packaging and design innovation
*Attend print runs where required to ensure quality levels are met
*To independently take responsibility for ensuring all our packaging meets brand guidelines and has lead agency and global brand leader approval.
*Manage origination and artwork budget within A&P
*Creating mock artwork designs for presentations
*Ensure the Quality principle is lived within the artwork process
*Support the MCDT distributors with sales requests such as merchandising samples
*Manage the Brandbank process
*To be the key point of contact for new design ideas
*Other ad-hoc duties as required.
Marketing responsibilities:
*Review and approve trade and consumer press releases
*Briefing trade press adverts to design agency
*Support the Marketing Manager on campaign activations
*Develop POS strategy with sales team and coordinate POS needed from design to approval
*Manage the MCDT POS budget

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The volatility of the business requires the job holder to be flexible to the changing needs of the business. Changing needs may result in ambiguity around the required project timing or overall plan priorities.
The Artwork Coordinator needs to be able to create strong collaborative relationships and be able to positively influence internal colleagues / external suppliers to deliver the desired results.
Each of these Segments operates differently. The role is therefore complex.
The job holder needs to be able to manage multiple activities at any one point in time.
Background Experience & Qualifications

Candidates applying for this role will need to have:

*Experience working in a comparable role either in marketing or packaging
*Knowledge of packaging and artwork production such as printing and design
*Experience of working in working in cross functional teams
*High attention to detail is essential
*Strong writing skills, use of language and grammar
*Confidence in communicating to key stakeholders
*A creative thinker with lots of ideas
*Good time management and strong organisational skills with the ability to handle a number of tasks at once and meeting deadlines as required
*Works well in a fast-paced commercial environment, dealing well with pressure and tight deadlines
*A problem solver who uses their initiative to find solutions
*Self-motivated, positive & passionate - a strong work ethic and positive approach is crucial for this role
*Driving and travelling - visa etc
*Educated to degree level
