Our client is one of Europe's leading independent technology centres for the design, engineering, test and development of automotive and propulsion systems. They design, release, prototype and production release almost any conversion of a standard vehicle into a range of applications.

They are now looking for Vehicle Technicians to join their experienced Armoured Vehicles/ Conversions engineering team. This is a permanent role based in Bedfordshire offering a competitive salary dependent on experience plus an attractive benefits package.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the process of vehicle conversion including the stripping, modification and rebuilding of vehicles to at least the same standard as the base vehicle.

Role Responsibilities:

*Remove/replace and fit bespoke mechanical/electrical/trim components in line with the guidance provided to the designated quality standard
*Remove/replace and modify vehicle bodywork in accordance with the guidance provided to the designated quality standard
*Work with the Technician Supervisor to improve efficiency / quality during build, with particular focus on the higher volume programmes
*Ensure that build sheets discrepancies are fed back appropriately to material control and production control
*Ensure that the build area is kept clean and tidy
*Ensure that all tools and equipment are fit for purpose including calibration requirements
*Be responsible for maintaining a safe health and safety working environmental adhere to COSHH regulations
*Collect and check correct parts prior to fitting
*The post holder will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve the company's objectives commensurate with the grading of the post
*Act in accordance with the behaviours of staff at all times.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

*Industry trained with recognised motor vehicle qualifications either NVQ level 2 or City and guilds
*Mechanical or Electrical - focused Vehicle technician from Trim or Body Panel background within a vehicle bodsyhop, garage, or dealership environment.
*Vehicle Conversions experience
*Fabrication abilities making brackets, etc.
*Bench fitting
*Automotive mechanical/ electrical installations
*Automotive trim remove replace and modify
*Able to read and understand engineering drawings
*Manual dexterity and ability to use a wide range/variety hand tools
*Problem solver
*Flexible and adaptable to new situations
*Ability to fettle trim parts as necessary
*Desire to provide excellent service and produce best in class conversions.
*Team player
*Ability to work under pressure
*Full UK driving licence
*SC cleared or willing to undertake SC check
*Able to work at height
