To line manage, support, develop, coach and task a team of Administrators responsible for providing customer focused administrative support to the Alliance Learning and Development function. The teams may be based locally or remotely across three counties, there will be an expectation as line manager to travel. Line management duties will include but are not limited to:

·  Management of leave, sickness, welfare, discipline performance and associated matters relating to the team.

·  Assess current workloads and skills across the administrative team in order to ensure the most effective deployment of staff. Allocate tasks to individuals taking into consideration any development needs and current workload.

·  Ensure appropriate staff training is undertaken and continuously develop and coach people to provide a multi-skilled team to safeguard resilience within the hub identifying skill gaps and learning needs;

·  Line management staff locally or remotely, which may in some instances; include covering line management responsibilities of other L&D hubs across the Alliance geographic area to offer resilience to other Admin Services Supervisors (L&D), including travelling to locations as required.

·  Induct and train new staff joining the hub to the required standard;

·  Arrange and chair team meetings, including holding regular individual meetings with staff.

To be the business and administrative link between all branches of the function. This will include

·  Representing Admin Services and processes at Alliance and Forcewide L&D forums to enable oversight of attendance and training.

·  Provide advice and guidance to customers and the colleagues on specific L&D admin processes, liaise with staff and other departments regarding work queries to ensure quality work is produced within required timescales;

·  To act as point of contact for Duties/RMU, Sponsored Learning Panel, and aspects of e-learning roll out via NCALT and OLAS;

·  To be the NCALT domain manager;

·  To support Firearms Training Co-ordinators and ensure appropriate resilience is in place;

·  Liaise with trainers and course planners to ensure a full understanding of the annual delivery plan;

·  Maintain a broad understanding of current Learning and Development, policies, processes; trends and ideas.

To provide an input into the wider Alliance Administration Services Department as part of the supervisory team with a strategic vision across the Alliance Administration Services function to ensure the correct tasking of work takes place and performance is monitored. This will include :

·  Foster effective working relationships across the three counties;

·  Driving and monitoring performance for the L&D Admin Services hubs in accordance with Departmental Service Support Standards and Force targets.

·  Undertaking a continuous review of working practices and processes, develop and implement improvements where empowered and/or recommend improvements to reduce service demand and improve service delivery requirements;

·  Report on the quality of service performance and interpret performance statistics from the Daily Activity Recording System to the Admin Services Manager;

·  Manage and allocate tasks according to business need ensuring that resources are focused on the key service demands;

·  Carry out other duties that are commensurate with the grade of post
