Accounts & Purchasing Team Supervisor

Job responsibilities

*Maintain the Chart of Accounts and reporting hierarchies
*Transactional treasury including approval of payments
*Ensure that system control accounts, bank accounts and balance sheet accounts are regularly reconciled and reviewed to ensure that the General Ledger contains accurate and up-to-date information
*Manage the efficient and timely running of period end processes and month end reporting to the Finance Teams, including escalation of exceptions
*Ensure that all bank transactions are recorded and correctly assigned to the relevant ledger to enable daily reconciliation to bank accounts
*Produce information to enable the timely payment of statutory and voluntary payroll deductions to third parties, liaising where necessary with appropriate agencies
*Preparation & submission of VAT Returns
*Train and instruct employees in job duties and company policies, or arrange for training to be provided

Ideal candidate

*Qualified to level 4 in a finance related subject - e.g. Association of Accounting Technicians
*Knowledge of finance systems (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, and General Ledger)
*Knowledge of Value Added Tax and its application to both income and expenditure
*Excellent customer service and communication skills both on the phone and in written form
*Financial administration experience including the reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts and investigation of variances
