I have an urgent requirement for an Accounts assistant to join an established company in a modern working environment on a temporary basis - with potential to go long term.
This role reports to the Finance Manager in a small team and is responsible for purchase ledger duties, processing expenses and completing all of the associated bank reconciliations, payroll and sales reconciliations on a weekly basis.
Main Duties:
* Daily bank reconciliations
* Purchase ledger duties
* Dealing with complaints accordingly
* Reviewing files to ensure paperwork is kept to a minimum within the office and queries are being resolved in a timely manner
* Building excellent relationships with customers and suppliers
* Reconciling the payroll reports to the daily hours sheets and ensuring all documents have been accurately completed
* Submitting the finalised payroll reports to the accountants and uploading payments onto the bank once finalised
* Reconciling all cash books and ensuring reconciling / aged items are kept to a minimum and are being review / actioned on a regular basis
* Preparing the sales reconciliation and raising any queries
* Processing any related journals into SAGE in a timely manner
* Conducting safe and petty cash & reporting discrepancies
Month End Duties
* Completing balance sheet reconciliations for all areas of responsibility and ensuring any reconciling / aged items are evidenced as being reviewed
* Assisting the FM with any journals or queries that need actioning
* Ensuring all journals are posted on time to allow the month end timetable commitments to be met
* Liaise with external parties as and when required, including but not limited to; suppliers, accountants and legal representatives
* Assist the year end auditors and all other external Finance consultants
Assisting with any queries related to the role as they arise
The post-holder will ideally have
* A minimum of 3 years in a similar role
* Excellent time management skills
* Excellent IT skills especially in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
