Job description

Actemium Design is looking to target emerging opportunities in the growing nuclear research and development market. This includes offering multi-discipline engineering design services to the fusion energy and Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Advanced Modular Reactor (AMR) programmes. As such, we require a dedicated individual to establish close customer relationships, communicate the services offered by Actemium Design and the wider Actemium business, identify new opportunities and convert them into projects for delivery.

 

Package: Up to Circa 80k (£ Competitive Salary + Car Allowance + Company Bonus + Healthcare + Share Scheme + Pension + Benefits)

 

The Role

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development and project management, specifically in relation to the research and development sector of the UK nuclear industry. They must be used to working in a customer facing role to build key relationships and identify opportunities for future work for the business. They will also be responsible for leading and coordinating any bids, tenders, and proposals to secure contracts, plus have the necessary project and commercial management skills to oversee the engineering design team and liaise with the customer to ensure successful delivery of the project.

 

The Project / Sales Manager will work closely with the Actemium Design Sector Manager responsible for the nuclear research and development market to develop a Commercial Action Plan and report on the financial and technical performance of the projects assigned to them.

 

Preferably, the ideal candidate will have an engineering background in either mechanical, Control, Electrical and Instrumentation (CE&I) or process disciplines so that they understand the technical requirements of the customer’s projects.

 

Although the role is primarily based out of the Actemium Design Basingstoke office, the Project / Sales Manager will be expected to frequently travel and visit customer sites as necessary to fulfil their duties. There is also expected to be an element of independent remote working against assigned targeted objectives.

Desired profile

  • Ideally + 5-years working in a customer facing business development or sales role
  • Ideally + 2-years working in a project or bid management role
  • In-depth knowledge of the nuclear research development market, including an understanding of the customers and suppliers who operate in this sector
  • Experience of working for an engineering design consultancy or manufacturing company that operates in the UK nuclear industry
  • Developing and managing a Sales Pipeline to capture and track any opportunities and securing contracts to win new work
  • Contract management delivered under NEC3/4 commercial terms
  • Relevant engineering degree (preferable)
  • Qualified through the Association for Project Management (APM) (preferable)
