Key tasks

This position is responsible for the supervision and operation of the Hotel departments during the night. This includes front desk duties such as checking in/out hotel guests, answering phone, assisting with room service orders and reservations, handling guests concerns, questions or issues. The Night Manager supervises and performs the hotel Night Audit procedures which include the following: accuracy verification and daily balancing of revenue for all revenue centers; reviews all adjustments, paid out and misc. charges and conducts and investigation or follow up if necessary; handles any reports as directed and assigned; investigates discrepancies with PM reports against Housekeeping; tracks and reports activities related to pooled gratuities and any other duties as assigned. The Night Manager also assists in other operational department as necessary to maintain employee and guest satisfaction.

Essential and optional requirements

The Sofitel Lafayette Square is looking for an individual to fill the Night Manager position.

The ideal candidate will have first and foremost a positive and friendly attitude and a constant smile. Other necessary characteristics are detail orientation, excellent communication skills and organization abilities, a desire to exceed and make the guest happy! Strong employee relations skills are also necessary: conflict resolution, training.

Other qualifications include a minimum of two years in Hospitality Night Audit in an upscale Hotel, previous supervisory experience, knowledge of hotel operations (F&B, Front Office, Bell Staff, Reservations, Room Service, etc) and a thorough knowledge of computer software to include Opera, Micros, Excel and Word. A fully flexible schedule is required.
