Key tasks

The purpose of this role is to manage the Northern European Groups desk covering Business groups. The role is UK (London) based with some travel to Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg required. Your role will be to manage & drive the team who handle Global group enquires within Northern Europe. You will be responsible for managing the day to day business of the team as well as having full involvement in the management of enquires. The key focus is driving & supporting the TAGS project (The Accor Group Solution) by ensuring team/hotels are utilizing Meeting Broker/Connex.

Key responsibilities include:

- Overseeing, managing & motivating direct reports including regular appraisals & all management activity for the Northern Europe division within M&E
- Managing the recruitment process for vacancies within the team
- Managing day to day enquires from strategic and key partners
- Developing best practice across the team in enquiry handling utilising the systems Accor have in place (Connex/Meeting Broker)
- Driving TAGS/strategy and develop team skills on Connex
- Training and developing the sales support agents to ensure they are taking a proactive & commercial approach
- Ensuring the team are working efficently and effectively utilising Accor tools
- Producing monthly and adhoc reports on group desk business
- Attending events, exhibitions and activities to support development of M&E business in association with the events calendar produced by M&E sales team
- Working with Director of Sales UK M&E on developing team strategy & goals
- Representing NE Group desk at meetings, sharing and developing best practice
- Analysing results and using date to drive performance
- Ensuring the team are educated on portfolio of hotels through various methods such as arranging Fam trips, setting up hotel webinars & face to face selling
- Working closely with strategic and key account managers in understanding the needs of the business & their clients portfolio.
- Driving conversion of business via ensuring team are qualifying and managing business effectively
- Developing a strong understanding of hotel portfolios, ensuring the team are updated on new openings
