As the flagship hotel for the Mercure brand within Australia we invite you to belong to something bigger. We are a big hotel, looking for some big talent! With 517 newly refurbished rooms, 9 conference rooms, and multiple food and beverage outlets, Mercure Sydney is on the look out for a Group Reservations Coordinator. We are and will continue to be, ANYTHING BUT NORMAL. 

This role also takes ownership of the group reservations for Ibis World Square. Matching contemporary urban style with welcoming service Ibis World Square offers 166 rooms with a great central city location, on historic Pitt Street near the Capitol Theatre, enticing public wholesale and corporate business.

Job Description

·  Responsible for sales & management of all group bookings of 10 rooms or more
·  Management of PCO group blocks relating to inventory, payment & group setup
·  Handle enquiries for group bookings via email or phone, communicate immediately, and provide a reply or confirmation
·  Ensure a prompt input of reservations and data for all group enquiries & bookings 
·  Preparation of group information sheets (group movements) and briefing of Hotel stakeholders prior to arrival of group
·  Manage Hotel inventory in relation to group reservations and monitor potential wash of business

Qualifications

·  1-2 years of experience in a Front Office or Reservations role
·  Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office & Opera
·  Service oriented with an eye for detail
·  Ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in a dynamic environment
·  Self-motivated and energetic with a strong focus & passion for hotel operations
·  Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, relationship and networking skills
