Job Description

Be part of the opening team of  Mercure Oradea , a contemporary midscale hotel featuring 90 rooms, four conference halls, spa & wellness facilities, restaurant and café.

The  Group Conference & Events Sales Executive  is responsible for driving revenue through  groups, meetings, conferences and events (MICE segment) , from initial enquiry to event execution handover.

The role combines  proactive sales, client relationship management and event coordination , ensuring all opportunities are maximized in line with the hotel’s commercial strategy.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this position plays a key role in building the hotel’s positioning as a leading  meetings & events destination in Oradea .

Qualifications

Sales & Business Development

· 
Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities in the  corporate, MICE and agency segments

· 
Conduct sales calls, site inspections and client meetings

· 
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of group and event leads

· 
Develop relationships with local companies, event planners and travel agencies

· 
Achieve monthly and annual revenue targets for groups and events

Groups & Events Management

· 
Handle enquiries for  groups, conferences and events  from A to Z

· 
Prepare and present tailored proposals and contracts

· 
Negotiate rates and conditions in line with revenue strategy

· 
Coordinate all event details with clients and internal departments

· 
Ensure smooth handover to operations and follow-up post-event

Pre-Opening & Positioning

· 
Contribute to building the hotel’s  MICE strategy and sales approach

· 
Participate in pre-opening sales activities, networking events and market outreach

· 
Help position Mercure Oradea as a preferred venue for  business events and social functions

Internal Coordination

· 
Work closely with  Revenue, Front Office, F&B, Spa and Operations teams

· 
Ensure accurate communication of group details and event requirements

· 
Use PMS/CRM systems to manage bookings and client data

· 
Maintain clear documentation of all sales activities and contracts

Reporting & Performance Tracking

· 
Track conversion rates, revenue performance and business mix

· 
Prepare sales reports and forecasts related to groups and events

· 
Monitor market trends and competitor activity in the MICE segment

Education & Experience

· 
Previous experience in  hotel sales, events or MICE segment  is preferred

· 
Experience in handling  group bookings and event coordination  is a strong advantage

· 
Familiarity with hotel systems (PMS, CRM) is a plus
