Job description

Key tasks

The main responsibility of the Conference & Events Sales Manager is to maximise sales whilst delivering exceptional customer service, in aid of contributing to the overall success of the C&E function.

• To be totally familiar with hotel products, rates, and promotions at all times.
• Coordinate in hotel activities including promotions, sales blitzes, entertainment and other operational areas as directed.
• Accurately prepare month-end, year-to-date, room night and revenue accounts reports for his/her supervisor.
• Maintain accurate information on all new and ongoing leads and accounts, including solicitation efforts.
• Ensures that all incoming correspondence (inquiries, requests, offers, confirmations, etc.) are attended to and replied in due time.
• Ensures all correspondence is filed in a methodical systematic basis.
• Sets up a filing system for all relevant and important correspondence or documents.
• Implements a daily follow up system.
• Conducts rate market surveys to advise management of actual market trends.
• Special deals (out of guidelines and rate policy) must in any case be discussed, co-ordinated and approved prior to offer with the hotel’s management.
• Thoroughly familiarizes oneself with the Hotel’s emergency procedures and is in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
• He/she is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned.
