Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Chief Steward to join our team in Jakarta, Indonesia. As the Chief Steward, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the sanitation and equipment management of our food and beverage operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
· Supervise and coordinate daily sanitation operations in all kitchen and storage areas
· Manage and train the stewarding team to meet service standards and maintain strict hygiene protocols
· Ensure all food and beverage outlets are supplied with clean, sanitized equipment and functioning kitchen tools
· Oversee proper chemical usage and safe dishwashing practices
· Develop and manage staff rosters, conduct performance reviews, and foster team development
· Monitor budgets, coordinate with suppliers, and implement cost control measures through efficient resource utilization
· Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other department heads to maintain smooth kitchen operations
· Drive continuous improvement in operations, service quality, and team engagement
· Uphold workplace health, safety, and environmental commitments
· Lead by example in promoting company values and fostering a positive work environment
Qualifications
· Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a similar role
· Proven knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
· Proficiency in chemical handling and safety protocols
· Strong understanding of hotel operations and business acumen
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to manage budgets and implement cost control measures
· Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Positive attitude, flexibility, and drive to excel in a fast-paced environment
· Experience with inventory management and supplier coordination
· Proficiency in relevant computer software and systems
· Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment
· Fluency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is a plus
