Job description

Key tasks

MAIN DUTIES:

1) Responsible for serving guests and customers drinks in the bar/table service.

2) Responsible for bar snacks orders and the collection of the snacks from the kitchen.

3) To ensure that the bar, tables, chairs and ashtrays are kept clear and clean at all times.

4) Responsible for the ordering/requisition of barrels and bottles on a daily basis.

5) Responsible for the collection of bottles and the changing of barrels/kegs.

6) To ensure that the shelves are stocked.

7) Responsible for all cleaning behind the bar including shelves and floor.

8) Ensuring guests signatures are on the drinks dockets.

9) To ensure all glasses washed and polished, before being offered to a guest/customer.

10) To serve drinks at various functions.

11) To maintain the constant supply of ice/fruit/garnish appropriate for accompanying drinks served.

12) To ensure the correct preparation and service of cocktails.

13) Disposal of rubbish into the correct bins.

14) Responsible for all monies in and out of the till.

15) Responsible for the float.

16) To report any hazards or faulty equipment to the Bar Manager/Supervisor.

17) To report for duty on time and in the correct uniform.

18) To be aware of and comply with the company policy relating to hygiene, health and safety.

19) To carry out reasonable duties requested by Management.

20) To inform Bar manager/Supervisor of any complaint or irregularities within the bar service area.

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION | ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

This person needs to be able to:-

1) Communicate and converse at all levels

2) To co-operate with management and keep good relations between colleagues

3) To be flexible and available when busy times demand

4) Must be able to remain calm, helpful and cheerful under pressure

5) To be well groomed and punctual at all times
