Job Description

The Technical Writer will work with a cross functional team to create, edit, and organize highly technical information and convert it into useful, high quality documentation and resources. The team handles a wide variety of document types, including professional manuals, web articles, training guides, forms, letters, computer based training, PowerPoint decks, and graphic design content. This candidate must have excellent writing skills and be able to work with and use the appropriate style guide. The candidate should be prepared to present writing samples. This is a highly organized, fast paced and dynamic environment. The technical writer will be responsible for conducting quality reviews, copy editing, substantive editing, and ensuring that content meets style and branding guidelines.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:

·  Minimum of 1 year of experience in Adobe FrameMaker
·  Minimum of 2 years of technical writing and editing experience
·  Minimum of 2 years of experience in Adobe Acrobat Pro

Preferred:

·  Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English or Technical Writing
·  Experience using federal plain language writing standards
·  Experience with creating accessible 508 compliant documents
·  Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
·  Proficient in Adobe InDesign
·  Experience with structured authoring DITA XML
·  Medicaid or private insurance experience
