Jr. Python Developer

Job description

We are looking for a junior python developer with experience developing in a high paced agile environment. The candidate will be responsible for aiding in the development of new threat hunting capabilities along with maintaining and sustain existing operations for the iDefense core research teams.Candidates for this position must be selfdriven and passionate. A candidate will be able to influence the larger suite of capabilities for which they are building smaller components, so he or she will need to lean on experience in quickly understanding the complexities of a smaller component at hand, as well as the effects on the larger system on our periphery. Most tools and systems this candidate develops will aid a larger signal and intelligence detection framework, so candidates must be able to think beyond the immediate requirements, considering actual usecases and potential points of failure. As such, the candidate will be in contact with iDefense Intelligence Analysts often, so candidates are expected to be receptive to learning concepts surrounding malware, vulnerability, and threat fundamentals and analysis.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

* Programming:

- 1 years Python 2.x experience

* Network programming:

- Experience creating/using RESTful APIs and the like

* Databases (programming against):

- You can demonstrate MongoDB/MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQLite/Redis experience

* Operating Systems (can efficiently do work on and have developed for):

- Comfortable with GNU/Linux of any flavor

* Experience developing on distinct projects that interact together through APIs

* Git, Subversion and bug-tracking (JIRA) experience

* Experience with Unit Testing and Integration Testing

* Understanding of cyber threat intelligence is a plus

*Comfortable investigating tough research topics with limited supervision
