An exciting opportunity has arisen for a medical sales professional to join our diabetes team as a territory sales representative in a 12 months fixed term role.

Based in Newcastle the role would be responsible for the promotion of our life changing technology to HCP's in the Newcastle region and in Armidale and Tamworth. Abbott's life changing glucose monitoring technology is rapidly changing the management of insulin using patients living with diabetes within Australia. The successful candidate will be accountable to exceed sales targets by executing the business strategy, proactively meeting the dynamic needs of the marketplace and by building superior partnerships with HCP's that bring value to our customers and enhance patient lives.

What does a day in this role look like:

At Abbott, we like to keep things moving always and therefore no two days in this role would be the same. In this role your key responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

  • Maintain a high level of competence in FreeStyle Libre (and its digital products platform) competitor products disease states and industry compliance
  • Demonstrate proficiency in tools of the trade, processes and policies
  • Develop sales action plans in line with the marketing strategy and evaluate and track the implementation of these on an ongoing basis
  • Plan, execute and analyse sales calls to create call-continuity with customers
  • Promote value-add services that improve the quality of care available to patients and create solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Diagnose and track key customer and competitor performance regularly
  • Collaborate with broader Abbott team to identify new opportunities

  • Customer-centric mindset, active listening, genuine empathy and a strong desire to resolve issues.
  • Proven track record in delivering sales targets in a complex, solution selling environment.
  • Established knowledge of medical industry in a selling role strongly preferred
