JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:

The IQA Supervisor will ensure that the incoming quality inspections are completed in support of production schedules and in compliance with the Quality Management System and supporting quality standards. This includes oversight of a staff of inspectors and managing inspection priorities for both manual (visual, calipers, height gages, etc.) and automated testing (CMM, O-Inspect, Keyence). This individual will coordinate with Quality, Operations, Planning and Engineering to ensure part availability for production schedules. In addition, the candidate must be able to strategically align resources (people and equipment) to ensure an optimized inspection process targeting a 2-day turnaround on incoming lots.

In an effort to streamline and harmonize inspections, we are also looking for the candidate to standardize inspection processes by part number and/or design feature resulting in consistent inspection techniques between inspectors. With a wealth of automated testing equipment an resulting data, we will be implementing new data systems and enhanced tracking and trending of inspection data. This individual will play a pivotal role in that effort.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in:

  • CMM and other automated inspection equipment
  • Optimizing inspection processes for high throughput
  • Interacting with key stakeholders to ensure efficient inspection processes
  • Advanced knowledge of a variety of inspection techniques including calipers, pin/plug/thread gages, height gages, micrometers, inspection scope and automated testing such as CMM, O-Inspect and Keyence IM-7000
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry – medical device/aerospace/automotive
  • Experience in a regulated audit as the Inspection Subject Matter Expert
  • Knowledge of IT systems for tracking and trending of inspection data
  • Supervising a team of 10+ hourly/non-exempt Incoming Quality Inspection staff

In addition, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field along with 5-plus years in a management/supervisory role.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in a scientific or technical discipline or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years in area of discipline).
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in function or related field.
  • 1 year of direct supervisor experience.
  • General knowledge of industry practices, techniques and standards.
  • General application of quality system application and principles.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Developed ability for attention to details, adaptability and organization skills.
  • Skilled supervisor that demonstrates use of Quality principles, theories and concepts. Demonstrates strong leadership competencies.
  • Participates on teams and contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals
