Our location in Santa Clara, California currently has an opportunity for a Senior Software Verification Engineer.


The Hematology Software team is seeking an experienced Sr. Software Verification Engineer. We are looking for someone with very strong technical experience and domain knowledge, experience in problem solving, strong passion, interest and quick learning abilities, someone who’s detail oriented with an initiative to drive tasks to completion, someone with a bias for action with accountability for results. He/she will be helping us improve the quality of the software solutions that we are providing. This will involve working with a diverse group of software testers in achieving testing goals for our products, continuously improving our testing framework, bringing best practices, tools, capabilities and ideas from outside into the organization, refining and managing a suite of regression and performance tests, end-to-end testing.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Completes professional level engineering assignments related to a specific field or discipline. Leads and participates in projects involving the Design, fabrication, validation, and manufacture of complex instrument subassemblies, systems or processes.

Primary Responsibilities

Build, refine and manage a suite of instrument functional, regression and performance tests.

Create and maintain documentation related to testing.

Create and review quality system documents, protocols, process and product validations, and test methods.

Provide leadership and support for quality objectives and process improvement efforts.

Oversee overall compliance administration activities relating to design controls, verifications, validations and qualifications as necessary.

Perform general quality control / quality assurance tasks, support product testing and releases as needed.

Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of quality engineering policies, principles and best practices

Apply intermediate understanding of regulatory requirements (cGMP, FDA, ISO, etc.) to support work with little or no supervision

Apply comprehensive knowledge of software quality concepts within the software development lifecycle

Able to pull reports (queries), interpret trends and make recommendations for improvement to existing processes and tools

Uses comprehensive expertise to help improve and streamline the software quality or development process

Represents Quality organization on cross-functional product development Core Team(s)

Review complex test cases/scripts and interprets/analyzes results to report, communicate, and work through issues with software engineers

Considered expert in critical areas of the system and influences project test solutions

Forms and suggests ideas to support the strategic technical direction of the area, Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers, designers, and technicians.

Formulates detailed plans for execution by other less experienced engineers.


Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or closely related discipline with four (4) or more years progressive work experience.


BS in an Engineering or Medical field preferred

Experience testing software for medical devices or in a regulated industry (e.g. FDA, Aerospace, Defense) strongly preferred

UI Testing experienced is strongly preferred Experience with Embedded Software automation and Test Complete is a plus.

Comfortable with software test management software tool such as HP Quality Center, Requirements Management software (e.g. DOORS), and Defect Tracking software (e.g. JIRA)

Experience with Scrum/Agile software development methodologies desired

Experience testing on both Windows and Linux platforms is a plus
