JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings. We have launched a monitoring system that revolutionises how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.

 

To support our continued site expansion, we currently have an opportunity within the R&D team for an experienced Scientist to join us. This team provide product R&D support activities through scientific experimentation and prototype fabrication. This position is at the heart of the UK R&D team and your input and delivery of results will be instrumental in the achievement of key product and process innovations in both the UK and US. In this role you will support performance studies, undertaking different test procedures and assessing the performance of our product, as well as aiding design of experimentation, proto-type development, and sterile barrier system advancements.

 

You should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment within a hard-working and welcoming team. You will be keen to further develop your exposure of following protocols to accomplish goals, analysing data, evaluating results and forming conclusions, and using your technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.

 

To be successful, you will ideally be degree qualified in a scientific discipline and bring experience of working in an industry environment. Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred.

 

The ideal candidates will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a team. You will need to have good communication, analytical and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment. There will be opportunity to collaborate with R&D, quality, operations and engineering functions in both the UK and the US.
