JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer (internal title: Associate Engineer I), is an engineering professional who applies scientific, engineering, mathematics knowledge and ingenuity to complete basic engineering assignments.

Responsibilities include developing manufacturing processes, creating manufacturing instructions, analyzing manufacturing issues, developing solutions, assessing new product designs for manufacturability, troubleshooting problems, factory line support, completing process validations, and developing sub-assembly & system level test procedures. Completing and documenting non-conformance investigations and corrective actions. Providing feedback to design engineering on manufacturability issues and improvements. Additional responsibilities include defect data analysis, and project support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or closely related discipline.
  • 0-4 years of experience with electro-mechanical assemblies and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex instrumentation with entry level proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks) and interpreting engineering drawings, and completing engineering changes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with other functional groups or suppliers
  • Experience with lean six sigma tools, design for assembly analysis (DFA) software, basic statistics, process validations, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus.
  • Experience troubleshooting and problem resolution for electro-mechanical devices is a plus.
  • Experience with medical device manufacturing or comparable industry in an FDA regulated environment is a preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • 2 (+) years experience with electro-mechanical assemblies and manufacturing operations.
  • 2(+) years experience in troubleshooting complex instrumentation with entry level proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks) and interpreting engineering drawings, and completing engineering changes.
