  In Ireland, Abbott employs more than 3,200 people across 11 sites. Abbott has six manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Longford and Sligo and a third party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. It has commercial operations in Dublin and shared services in Dublin and Westport. Abbott serves the Irish market with a diverse range of health care products including diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic pharmaceuticals.   Abbott Ireland Nutrition Division – Cootehill

  Abbott Nutrition in Cootehill manufactures infant nutritional products for the export markets. The facility is dedicated to providing products of the highest quality standard to its customers.

  Abbott Nutrition produces a range of infant formulae in all pack sizes under the brand name “Similac”. To complement the range of “Similac” infant formulae, the facility also manufactures a range of follow on formulae under the brand name of “Gain”. The essential ingredient is liquid skim milk and this is combined with carbohydrate, vegetable oils, vitamins and minerals. The product is blended, pasteurised, dried and packaged at the site and once packaged, is distributed to Europe, South East Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Canada.

  Established in 1975, Abbott Nutrition in Ireland is the largest powder manufacturing facility for the production of infant formulae within the Abbott Corporation worldwide.

  Approximately 1,000 dairy farms in Ireland and Northern Ireland supply quality milk to the Cootehill facility which processes 500,000 litres per day. This secure supply together with Ireland’s reputation as a green, clean environment is of significant strategic importance to Abbott Nutrition.

  We are now looking for of Maintenance Plannerand this position will include the following:

• The planner is the principal contact between maintenance and other departments within the plant.
• The planner receives all work orders from requesting departments and screens each work order to ensure it is complete with all relevant information.
• Reviews with engineering team the work order requests received
• Liaise with production planner to schedule downtime windows to schedule maintenance work
• Schedule all preventative maintenance (PM) and demand maintenance (DM)work into production plan
• Work closely with engineering team to schedule manpower and resources for safe and timely completion of the works.
• Allocates and prioritises work orders to individual crafts and assigns to their handheld for completion
• Develop cost and time estimates for maintenance work
• Scope the full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair / preventive / predictive / maintenance. Include any QA requirements on the work order
• Complete field walk downs if necessary to identify any hazards that will be encountered during the task and identify any permits required to complete the works
• Identify any specialised equipment or tools required to complete the works
• Liaise with stores personnel to purchase / hire all necessary parts, equipment and services to perform the maintenance work
• Issue work orders to other departments for operator tasks which are completed on a paper based method
• Control up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records retained in Maximo.
• Ensure that all new equipment is added to the Maximo system and all relevant PMs for the new equipment is entered into Maximo.
• Complete any change requests to existing PMs in Maximo, maintaining records of the change completed
• Maintain and support the full use of Maximo Handheld units on site, ensuring all handhelds are functioning. Liaise with I.T Dept. to complete any repairs or rebuilds of handheld units in a timely manner.
• Be Maximo SME for the site, developing training for any gaps identified and rolling out to appropriate personnel
• Be Cognos SME for the site, developing and building any site specific reports required
• Ensure key performance indicators are captured, reported and displayed for equipment reliability and maintenance department performance.
• Tracks, monitors and reports open backlog of work orders and labour hours on Maximo
• Continually improve the planning, scheduling, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency
• Builds and provides maintenance reports to engineering teams on equipment performance over any defined period of time
• Publish maintenance schedule of all works planned to various departments in a timely manner
• Work closely with engineering manager, engineering team, finance and stores personnel to track and control engineering budget.
• Participate in shutdown planning and preparation meetings. Ensures work orders for all works scheduled during this period are logged and tracked on the Maximo system.
• Coordinates contractor works with area engineers and contractors responsible. Issues PMs and DMs to contractors for works completed on site
• Reports to engineering team of area spend per month
• Assist Engineering/EHS Manager with budget control and planning
• Assist other engineers with project cost controls
